Welcome!

Thank you for visiting Old Town Upholstery. What began as a hobby in 2002 has turned into a profession. I began refinishing wooden furniture which turned into learning reupholstery. After a couple years, something told me it was time to go public. That something was actually my wife saying, "Don't bring another piece of furniture into this house." Not all insights are silent! I love what I do and I can help you as you design your home and furniture to meet your dreams.

The question most people ask is "Should I reupholster or buy new?" I can't answer that for you, but I can tell you that generally speaking old furniture is more well made than the majority of new furniture. So the question should be "How long do I want this piece to last?" If it has already been around for 30, 50, or 60 years, it is probably going to be around that many more years! If your frame is stout, it is good. Cushions and backing, and even springs can be replaced

This chair was rescued from the side of the road and its impending doom at the dump. After stripping it down, I discovered it was made in 1942 during WWII. Even made with "war-time materials," this chair is very well made and is holding up great almost 70 years later!
